#6 – Cody Sandridge Takes 3rd at State

Before he even started his senior season, Cody Sandridge was already in the midst of a historic wrestling career at Republic High School. He was the only freshman wrestler from Republic to ever earn a medal at state, having finished 6th in 2012. Sandridge went on to finish 5th as a sophomore, then overcame a serious concussion as a junior to qualify for state again, although he didn’t medal.

As a senior, Sandridge topped the 100-win mark for his career. He ended with a 44-2 record, and went out with a victory in the 3rd-place match at the state tournament, defeating Norman Conley of Chaminade in a 1-0 decision.

Sandridge will continue his wrestling career at Pacific University, but you voted his work on the mat in Republic as the #6 story of the year in 2014-15.
