Performance of the Week – Keaton Overcast

Republic captured the team championship at the Joel Rios Invitational, and Keaton Overcast set the tone with a dominant run through the 144-pound bracket.

Overcast went 5–0 on the day, winning the individual title and earning the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler award at the Overland Park, Kansas event. He scored 28 team points and never let a match reach the final period, pinning all five opponents.

His day began with a 24-second fall over Bucholtz Alexander of Raytown South, followed by a 12-second pin against Tommy England of Olathe East. In the quarterfinals, Overcast ended Ryan Farrell of Lawrence in 1:34. He advanced through the championship bracket with a 1:56 fall over Min Sung Choi of Blue Valley North, then closed the tournament by pinning Brady Beaver of Bishop Miege in 1:36 in the finals.

In five matches, Overcast recorded five falls in a combined time of 5:42, averaging just over a minute per match on the mat. That combination of volume and speed separated him from the field and anchored Republic’s push to the team title.

Keaton Overcast’s championship run and Outstanding Wrestler performance is our Performance of the Week.
