Republic’s young swimming program took its first dip into high school competition on Friday, with three freshmen competing at the Joplin Outdoor Invitational. The trio of Landon Sierk, Ayden Morgan, and Jonathan Noell represented Republic in their first-ever high school meet.
Sierk posted the team’s fastest time in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a 35.15, good for 25th place. Morgan followed with a 36.52 (27th), while Noell rounded out Republic’s entries, finishing 29th.
In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Morgan led the way with a time of 1:26.90 (25th), and Noell finished in 2:14.19 (27th).
