Republic bounced back from a semifinal loss to Willard with a late rally against Carthage, earning third place at the Morrisville Tournament. The Lady Tigers dropped the semifinal 6–1, then came from behind twice in the third-place game to beat Carthage 6–5.

Willard 6, Republic 1
Republic took an early lead but managed just one hit in a 6–1 loss on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals. In the first inning, Paige Elsenraat walked and scored to put Republic on top 1–0. Addie Brown doubled for the Lady Tigers’ only hit.
Piper Dishman pitched two scoreless innings before Willard broke through in the third. The Lady Tigers scored three times in that frame and added three more in the fourth and fifth. Kara Goeke threw the final three innings and took the loss, allowing seven hits and six runs, three of them earned.
Republic drew five walks but stranded six baserunners.

Republic 6, Carthage 5
In the third-place game, Republic fell behind 3–0 in the second inning but answered quickly. In the bottom of the second, Emma Ellison drove in Goeke with a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-1.
Carthage added a run in the top of the fifth to make it 4-1, but Republic scored two more to cut into the lead. Maddie Carter singled, and Ellison moved courtesy runner Myleigh Mooneyham to third base with another hit. Mooneyham scored on a groundout by Kaityn Stewart, and Ellison scored on an RBI hit by Elsenraat, making it 4-3.
In the bottom of the sixth, facing the tournament time-limit, Republic scored again to tie the game on a double by Carter that drove in Madi Chevalier.
After Carthage scored a single run in the seventh, Republic came from behind again. Emma Ellison was placed on second base to start the inning. She went to third when Stewart laid down a bunt single. Republic tied the game on an RBI groundout by Elsenraat, then scored when Stewart scampered home on a passed ball.
Carter went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Elsenraat had two RBI, and Ellison scored twice and drove in a run. Stewart had two hits, including the game-winner, and Goeke doubled and scored.
Dishman pitched the first four innings, allowing three runs on two hits. Goeke threw the final three innings, giving up two runs and striking out three to earn the win.
