Republic honored its senior track athletes before Tuesday’s home meet, then collected 10 first-place finishes in the competition.
Gracie Troester secured four podium finishes for Republic, winning the 3200-meter run in 11:34.02 and contributing to the victorious 4×800-meter relay team. She added silver medals in the 1600-meter (5:26.77) and 800-meter (2:27.49) events.
Avery Rossow won the discus with a throw of 33.94 meters and placed third in shot put (10.29 meters). Zoey Johns earned gold as part of the 4×800 relay team and took bronze in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:54.68.
Five others won individual events: Reese Finley in the 400-meter dash (59.35), Gavin Lawhon in the 100-meter dash (11.11), Will Payne in the 300-meter hurdles (41.81), Keiran Govan in triple jump (13.25 meters), and Kaleb Norman in javelin (49.22 meters). Finley, Josie Stalzer, Troester, and Johns made up the winning 4×800 relay team.
Republic added seven silver medals. Cayera Higgins finished second in the 400-meter dash (1:03.30), while Nevaeh Ghan took silver in high jump (1.47 meters). Sammie Watson earned second in javelin with a throw of 32.87 meters.
For the boys, AJ Uhl placed second in 110-meter hurdles (16.47), Danny Fair earned silver in pole vault (3.96 meters), Aiden Schaefer took second in discus (43.36 meters), and Izaiah Hull claimed silver in javelin (43.06 meters).
The Tigers also collected nine bronze medals. Allison Burford placed third in discus (31.75 meters). Madison Chevalier (31.59 meters) and Macy Pitchford (25.29 meters) took third in javelin. CJ Uhl added bronze in javelin (39.46 meters), Ekene Chukwu in discus (43.02 meters), and Landon Harper in shot put (13.63 meters).
