Jackson Overstreet fired a two-hit shutout, leading Republic to an 11-0 run-rule victory over Parkview Tuesday in Springfield. Overstreet struck out four while walking just two in his first complete game.

Republic (14-14) broke the game open with a four-run third inning before adding five more in the fourth and two in the fifth. The Tigers pounded out 11 hits in the five-inning contest.

Republic’s offense was patient early, drawing two hit-by-pitches and a walk in the third inning to set up the scoring. Cannon Ellison’s sacrifice fly opened the scoring before Isaac White, Nolan Lashley and Brennan Overstreet delivered consecutive hits to push across three more runs.

The Tigers sent nine batters to the plate in the fourth inning. Ellison capped the rally with a triple that cleared the bases. Republic took advantage of wildness by Parkview pitching, drawing two walks and three hit-by-pitches in the frame. Jackson Overstreet added an RBI double as the Tigers built a 9-0 cushion.

The defensive highlight came in the second inning when Republic right fielder Ryder Smith threw out Tyce Heslin at first base for a rare 9-3 putout.

Ellison finished with three RBIs. Jackson Overstreet collected two hits and drove in one. Isaac White doubled twice and scored twice. Brennan Overstreet added a single and a double to the offensive attack.

Parkview starter Brayden Nottle absorbed the loss, lasting four-plus innings while allowing 10 runs. The Vikings (0-23) managed just two singles.

Overstreet improved to 2-0 on the mound, winning for the second time in a week. He was the winning pitcher in relief against Joplin last week.

Republic hosts Marshfield (18-9) on Wednesday.
