Republic’s defense stifled Lebanon, and the Lady Tigers hit 10 three-pointers in a 60-28 road win Monday.
Addie Brown and Lanney Strong led Republic with 15 points each. Brown knocked down five three-pointers, and Strong added two. The Lady Tigers improved to 9-8, climbing above .500 for the first time this season.
Leading 15-6 after one quarter, Republic opened the second period with an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 23-6. Kaylee Cornelsen hit back-to-back three-pointers during a decisive second quarter that helped Republic build a 38-15 halftime advantage.
Republic’s defense held Lebanon to single digits in all four quarters. Morgan Durbin led Lebanon with nine points.
Cora Cutbirth added 11 points for Republic, which has won nine of its last 12 games after starting the season 0-5.
Republic hosts Springfield Central Thursday.
