Performance of the Week – Alaina Norman and Gracie Troester

The Republic girls track season got off to a strong start at the Branson Invitational, and two Lady Tigers led the way. Alaina Norman and Gracie Troester each won three events to help Republic to a third-place finish — just a few points from winning the team championship.

Troester was on the winning 4x800m relay team, and she also won the 1600m run and the 3200m run. Norman won the shot put and the javelin, and she was on the winning 4x400m relay team.

Norman’s javelin throw of 124′ 11.25″ was a Branson Invitational meet record. She also finished fourth in the long jump.

Troester’s time in the 1600m run — 5:23.62 — was also a meet record.
