By the Numbers – Show-Me Bowl Edition

Republic Football is going to the Show-Me Bowl for the first time ever in Coach Ryan Cornelson’s third season at the helm. They will face undefeated Cardinal Ritter on Friday night at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri.

Years in a row that Republic has knocked Webb City out of the state playoffs after a 21-20 win in the semifinals. Republic had never beaten Webb City before they did so in district play last year.

Total yards for quarterback Wyatt Woods through 14 games. Woods has passed for 800 and rushed for 1443. He also has 28 total touchdowns (11 passing, 17 rushing).

Team-leading tackles for linebacker Kendell Curbow. Curbow has 74 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, 5 sacks and 7 tackles for loss. He led the Tiger defense in tackles last season as well with 101 through 12 games.

Wins for Republic Football, which ties the most ever in school history along with the 1982 and 1986 seasons.

Wins against teams Republic had never beaten before this season. Those teams include Carthage, Joplin, Lebanon, and Helias Catholic. If Republic beats Cardinal Ritter on Friday, they will be number five.
