The Republic boys wrestling team finished fourth in a 25-team field at the Lee’s Summit Holiday Invitational Friday and Saturday. The Tigers scored 196 points, barely finishing ahead of Olathe North (195) and Lee’s Summit West (192.5). Yukon, Oklahoma, won the tournament with 374 points, with Jackson second (299) and Lee’s Summit third (208).
Corbin Massey, Keaton Overcast, and Maddox Wilkins were Republic’s top finishers. They all took third place in their brackets. Manning Wilkins and Chase Hicks placed fifth in their weight classes. Shea Rogers was sixth in his division, and Phillip George finished seventh. (Full results below.)

Republic’s JV boys finished eighth at the Lebanon JV Tournament Saturday. Izaiah Hull won the A bracket and Ethan Montiel won the B bracket in the 175-pound division. Kameron Sutton won the B bracket at 190 pounds. Ayden Walker was second at 106, Earl Cameron finished third in the A bracket at 157 pounds, with Kawnon Vann Ausdle winning the B bracket at the same weight.
