Republic split its two matches during a home triangular meet with Glendale and Marshfield Tuesday. Republic beat Glendale 48-30, but lost to Marshfield 43-30.
Four Republic wrestlers won both their varsity matches: Manning Wilkins, Chase Hicks, Maddox Wilkins, Connor Sandridge.
Against Glendale, Republic got wins from Caden Allen, Jacob Simpson, Braydin Casey, Manning Wilkins, Chase Hicks, Maddox Wilkins, Connor Sandridge, and Lucas Craig. Korbin Black and Izaiah Hull also picked up wins in extra matches.
Against Marshfield, Republic winners were Keaton Overcast, Shea Rogers, Manning Wilkins, Chase Hicks, Maddox Wilkins, Connor Sandridge. Izaiah Hull and Landon Stemm each won extra matches against Marshfield opponents.
Girls Results
The Republic girls team put five competitors on the mat. Rebecca Griffin and Emily Carter each won by pin against their Glendale opponents. The other three didn’t wrestle because Glendale didn’t have an opponent in their weight class.
Against Marshfield, Anna McBroom picked up a win on a 5-3 decision. Griffin, Carter, and Bre Wells lost their matches, and Kylie Vance won by forfeit.
