Republic earned its best finish at the Kinloch Classic in seven years, finishing third during the two-day tournament at Springfield Parkview High School.
Republic captured two individual championships: Connor Sandridge at 175 and Maddox Wilkins at 190. For Sandridge, it’s the second tournament championship this season. He also won his bracket at the Bentonville West Invitational in Arkansas December 10.
Republic had three other finishes in the top four. Chase Hicks (165) and Braydin Casey (150) finished third. Manning Wilkins (157) and Keaton Overcast (120) each finished fourth.
It’s Republic’s best team finish at Kinloch since 2015, when the Tigers placed second out of 20 teams with 404.5 points. Shayne Piles was the only individual champion that year. Brandon O’Connell was a runner-up that year in his weight class.
Carl Junction won the 2022 team title in dominating fashion, earning 400.5 points. Fort Gibson, Okla., finished second with 269 points. Republic earned 236 points in its third-place finish.
