Lewis Breaks Repmo Butterfly Record at Springfield Invitational

Brady Lewis shattered the school record in the 100-yard butterfly at the Springfield Invitational Saturday. Lewis’s time of 54.91 earned him eighth place out of 39 competitors. It was the highest finish of the day for Republic swimmers at Foster Natatorium in Springfield.

The old Republic record in the event was 56.81, set by Seth Lock last year.

Lewis finished 12th in the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 59.08. Noah Marshall competed in that race, finishing 18th with a time of 1:02.14.

Marshall and Even Alstad both swam in the 200-yard freestyle. Marshall finished 19th and Alstad was 38th.

Alstad competed in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:02.88.
