Republic Tennis Comes from Behind vs. Carthage

The Republic tennis team came from behind late in the day to beat Carthage 6-3 in a Central Ozark Conference match at home Thursday.

Report from Coach Dan Vales:

Republic started playing by winning 2 of 3 doubles matches. Carthage rallied back to win the first two completed singles matches- taking a lead 2-3. Republic closed out the match with 4 straight singles wins. Cooper “The Wall” Davis first secured an 8-2 singles win for Republic at #6 singles. Then, Chase Elder came back from two points from defeat to win 9-8 (7-2) in a tiebreaker.
