Lady Tigers Rebound with Home Drubbing of Joplin

Ten different players scored as the Lady Tigers rebounded in a big way from Tuesday’s loss to Willard, dominating Joplin 72-22 at home Friday. Kaemyn Bekemeier scored 20 points – all in the first half – to lead Republic.

Republic left little doubt from the very start that it was in control. Bekemeier and Kaitlyn Ragsdale combined to score as many points in the first quarter as Joplin would score all night. Bekemeier had 14 in the first eight minutes, and Ragsdale had eight. The Lady Tigers led 28-6 at the end of the first quarter and 50-10 at halftime.

Republic made seven three-pointers on the night, with four different players hitting from long range. Even with the starters on the bench for most of the second half, Republic outscored Joplin 22-12 in the final two quarters.

The Lady Tigers got 26 points from the bench, led by Rilynn Finley’s nine.

Republic improves to 14-7 overall and 5-1 in the Central Ozark Conference. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Nixa next Monday.
