Defense Dominates in Lady Tigers’ Win

The Lady Tigers dominated the game on defense and pulled away in the second half for a 50-23 win at Webb City Friday. Republic allowed just ten points in the second half.

Both Webb City and Republic had trouble putting the ball in the basket during the first half. The teams combined for just 13 points in the first quarter, and Republic led 8-5 as the second quarter began. In the second quarter, the Lady Tigers outscored Webb City 14-8, taking a 22-13 lead at halftime. Webb City managed just four field goals in the first half, then only one more in the third quarter, as Republic stretched its lead to 35-16.

Kaemyn Bekemeier led Republic with 25 points.

The Lady Tigers improve to 16-7 overall and 7-1 in the Central Ozark Conference. Ozark, Republic, and Willard each have one loss in the league, and Republic will play Ozark next Monday.
