Three Republic girls finished in the top 50 among a 230-runner field at the Southwest Baptist SWCCA Cross-Country Invite Saturday. The top finisher for Republic was sophomore medalist Mihane Nambara, who was 13th overall. She finished in 20:17.79.
Aaliyah Vasquez finished 42nd (21:55.24) and Jasmyn Douglas was 50th (22:17.01). Among Class 4 runners, Nambara was eighth, Vasquez 25th, and Douglas 30th.
Senior Miku Nambara finished in 24:49.58. Alexis Collins-Irvin and Naomi Phillips also competed for the Lady Tigers.
The Republic girls finished 18th in the 29-team field.
Republic’s boys team finished 28th overall out of 38 teams competing. The Tigers’ top finisher was Ethan Haynes, a sophomore, who finished in 18:40.01. That put him 97th in a field of 344 runners. Dominick Famiano, Jackson Haralson, Jack Coursey, Logan Gray, Jacob Haralson, Braden Lester, Collin Chastain, Caleb Porter, and Derrick Buchanan also ran for Republic.
