The soccer Tigers kicked off with a preseason jamboree at Ozark. Here’s the photo gallery from their game against Springfield Parkview. Coach Kevin Hauck he liked a lot of what he saw out of the team in its opening match.
“I thought we defended really well that first game. We were trying to move the ball and we did a pretty decent job of moving it up top. We got some good looks, and Chris (Pacheco) made a nice finish off of one.”
With the season just about a week away, Hauck says the team still has areas to improve, but one key to the season will be whether the players can manage their own high expectations. “They put a lot of pressure on themselves and on their teammates, and I just want them to bring it back a little bit, relax a little bit, and enjoy their season,” he says. “I have high expectations for them, too, but mistakes are going to be made, and we’ve just got to learn to deal with them as we go.”
