More than 70 would-be baseball Tigers showed up Saturday at Republic High School for the second annual youth baseball camp to benefit the Evan Pullen Memorial Scholarship Fund. The camp was bigger than last year’s inaugural event, both in the number of young participants and in the number of players and coaches who volunteered as teachers. (See photo gallery below.)

Tiger Regan Butterworth says with everyone having a year of experience under their belts, this year’s camp also ran more smoothly.

“It’s a lot more organized this year. All the groups are staying together. They all know what we’re doing,” he says. “It’s good for the little kids out here and for the high school players to learn how to teach.”

Beyond the baseball-related benefits, Butterworth says organizing the camp is just a good opportunity for he and his teammates to help people.

“[I like] seeing little kids have fun out here doing something they may not be able to do on a regular basis–being out here with high school kids. They look up to us, so that’s really cool.”

Below are photos from the camp. See the full album and order prints here.
