Tigers Hold Onto Top Spot Despite Loss

Republic’s home loss to Willard Friday didn’t cost it the top spot in the Class 5 District 5 standings. Republic remains in first place through seven weeks with a 4-3 record and a rating of 35.14.

Nixa is in the #2 spot with a 3-4 record and a 31.24 rating. Parkview is third (3-4, 29.77), Ozark is fourth (3-4, 26.1), and Glendale is 5th (2-5, 23.29). Springfield Central and Branson are sixth and seventh, respectively.

The first place team in the district standings after Week 9 will get a bye in Week 10. The #2 seed will play #7.

Republic plays Neosho Friday, and will host district rival Nixa in a showdown the following week. That game will most likely determine who gets the #1 seed going into district play.
