One of the anchors of the Republic football defense will continue his football career in college. Garrett Metscher has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. He will also join the track and field team.
Metscher was a three-year starter for the football Tigers. He finished his career with 46 receptions for 781 yards and 7 touchdowns. Defensively, he finished his career with 163 tackles and five interceptions.
Metscher is also a frequent medalist in track and field in three events. His high-jump personal record is 6’ 5”, his triple-jump personal record is 43’4”, and his long jump personal record is 21’6”.
