Nathan Strobel hit three triples to help slug Republic past Marshfield Thursday on the road, 9-1.
Creed Smiley, Riley Norris, Garrett Woods and Clayton Rose also chipped in with hits for the Tigers, who took advantage of five Marshfield errors. The Tigers scored their nine runs on only eight hits.
Marshfield’s lone run came in the 2nd inning, after Republic had broken on top in the 1st. The game stayed tied until the Tigers scored two in the top of the 4th, and five more in the top of the 5th to break it open. They added a run in the 6th inning to account for the final score.
Republic’s JV team won 5-3.
The Tigers improve to 3-2 this season. Marshfield falls to 2-2.
