The Republic girls track team edged Nixa to win the Nixa Invitational championship Tuesday. Republic finished with 128 team points. Nixa (117), Kickapoo (102), and Ozark (95) rounded out the top four.
The boys team finished seventh overall, with 62 points. Waynesville (138) captured the boys team title.
Republic Girls Top Finishers
Gracie Troester had another big day, winning the 3200m run and the 800m run and finishing second in the 1600m. She was also part of the 4x800m relay team — along with Misora Nambara, Cali Thompson, and Kristin Probst — that finished second.
Jenna Belcher and Rilynn Finley finished 1-2 in the long jump. Gracie Woods was sixth.
Belcher was third in the triple jump, and Aubrey Haynes finished eighth.
Alaina Norman was third in shot put and second in javelin.
Riley Brown finished third in the pole vault.
Ali Poulson finished eighth in the discus.
The 4x200m relay team of Gracie Woods, Brooklyn Douglas, Molly Mason, and Jenna Belcher finished second with a time of 1:50.04.
Gracie Troester finished second in the 1600m run, and Kristin Probst was fifth.
Republic’s 4x100m relay team finished third with a time of 51.32. Gracie Woods, Brooklyn Douglas, Reese Frey, and Jenna Belcher were the members of that team.
Mason finished sixth in the 400m dash.
Chloe McCann finished eighth in the 300m hurdles.
Along with Troester winning the 800m run with a time of 2:25.36, Probst finished fifth.
As Troester won the 3200m run with a time of 11:46.19, Misora Nambara finished seventh and Kennidy Verheyen finished eighth.
Republic won the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:15.64. The winning team included Woods, Finley, Mason, and Probst.
Republic Boys Top Finishers
Cooper Douglas broke his own school record in the javelin throw, hitting the 49-meter mark to win first place.
Zion Allen finished third in the high jump and sixth in the long jump. Tyreke Williams was eighth in the long jump, as well.
Joey Mullins finished second in the 800m run. Brady Purcell took fifth in the 3200m run.
Braden Ghys finished sixth in the 200m dash.
Kendell Curbow finished fourth in the pole vault, and Daniel Fair was eighth.
The 4x100m relay team of Cole Gimlin, Ghys, Daniel Phillips, and Andrew Burgess finished third.
The 4x200m relay team of Gimlin, Ghys, Treyton Gray, and Burgess finished seventh.
The 4x400m relay team – Gray, Mullins, Gimlin, and William Payne — finished fourth.
The 4x800m relay team — Payne, Mullins, Purcell, and Aslan Ebisch – finished second.
