Zach Dickens brought home Republic’s only medal at the Class 3 state tournament Saturday, finishing 6th in the 195-pound weight class. Dickens won his first two matches to advance to the semifinals, then suffered his first loss against undefeated Hunter Yeargen of Willard.
In the consolation semifinal, Carlos Cubas of Van Horn defeated Dickens 10-5. Zac Courtoise of Kearney won by pin over Dickens in the 5th place match.
