The Republic girls tennis team made quick work of Carthage in a home dual Thursday, winning all nine matches for a 9-0 victory. It’s the second match in a row the Lady Tigers have swept a COC West opponent 9-0.
Republic set the tone in doubles play, where all three teams won by identical 8-3 scores. Claire Norris and Abby Bremer won at #1 doubles, Elaina Antonuk and Marlee Vasquez won at #2, and Aubree Tinsley and Leighton Riffe teamed up for the win at #3.
Singles play went much the same way. Antonuk, Tinsley, and Riffe each won 8-1 at #2, #5, and #6. Vasquez won 8-2 at #4, Bremer won 8-3 at #3, and Norris finished off the sweep with an 8-4 win at the top of the lineup.
The win improves Republic’s record to 4-1. Carthage falls to 2-3.
The Lady Tigers are back on their home courts Tuesday, September 15, against Nixa.
