Johnson Sprints to COC Titles; Boys 4×100 Sets Another Record

Alex Johnson sped past the competition to lead the way for Republic at Wednesday’s Central Ozark Conference track meet. Johnson finished the day with three golds, including one record-breaking performance with his relay teammates.

Republic’s boys and girls teams placed fifth in the COC West. Webb City swept the team titles.

The 4×100 relay team of Jacob Duran, Treyton Gray, Gavin Lawhon and Johnson won the event in 42.63 seconds, setting a school record for the third time this season. Johnson swept the sprints, winning the 100 in 11.00 and the 200 in 21.85. Lawhon was second in the 100 at 11.35.

Izaiah Hull won the javelin with a throw of 51.00 meters.

AJ Uhl was second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.63, a personal best. Ekene Chukwu threw 49.39 meters for second in the discus.

Reese Tate cleared 3.20 meters for second in the pole vault. Maura Lander was second in the triple jump at 10.61 meters.

The 4×800 relay team of Brylie Harris, Josie Stalzer, Jovi Kirby and Zoey Johns took second in 10:20.30. The 4×200 team of Maura Lander, Victoria Johnson, Quinnlyn Keller and Kyndall Snider was third in 1:48.65.

Avery Rossow finished third in the shot put at 11.41 meters, a personal best. Emma Ellison was third in the javelin at 34.75 meters.
