Carthage pitcher Carson Kinder threw a complete-game shutout Tuesday, striking out eight and walking one as Republic fell 13-0 in six innings.
Nine errors made for a long night, though Brennan Overstreet held things together on the mound as best he could. Only three of Carthage’s 13 runs were earned over his five innings. Landon Blankenship had the offensive highlight, doubling in the first. Greg Hicks and Maddox West each singled in the fifth to put two on, but Republic couldn’t push a run across against Kinder, who finished with three hits allowed.
Republic drops to 7-21. The Tigers play Thursday at home against Fair Grove.
