Tiebreakers Propel Tigers to Team Win

Republic defeated Willard 6-3 Monday at home, but the final score didn’t reflect how close it was.

The Tigers won two singles matches in tiebreakers, both 7-5, and all three doubles matches went 8-6. Lucas Riffe was the most decisive winner on the day, taking his singles match 8-0. Raymond DeVries and Kaden Fisher each won their singles matches in tiebreakers. Nevan Kulp won 8-4. Nathan Henry and Evan Wilkinson lost their singles matches.

In doubles, Riffe and DeVries won 8-6, and Fisher and Robert Linn won 8-6. Henry and Kulp fell 8-6.

Republic is 2-1 and 2-0 in the COC West after shutting out Carthage last week. The Tigers play at Nixa Tuesday.
