Republic managed just one run and four base hits during the second game of a double-header at Warrensburg last week — and that was plenty good enough for Kyler Tate.
Tate outdueled Warrensburg’s Braiden Schmitt to help the Tigers pick up a 1-0 victory on Thursday night. He struck out 8 Warrensburg batters and allowed only two base hits. He threw 99 pitches in total, and 61 of them were strikes.
Tate’s performance helped Republic recover from a high-scoring loss earlier in the evening, 16-12, to Ray-Pec. And it was our Performance of the Week.
