Stolen bases by Preston McCracken in Monday’s 10-2 win at Waynesville. McCracken also went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Nolan Lashley added an inside-the-park home run to cap a four-run second inning. Republic scored in five of seven innings.

One-run losses for Republic baseball this season, the latest coming Friday against Branson. The Tigers trailed 6-0, scored five times in the final two innings, and loaded the bases with one out in the seventh. Branson’s closer struck out the last two batters. Landon Perkins reached base all four times he came to the plate in the loss.

Saves for Awbree Berning in Friday’s 3-0 shutout of Jefferson City. Andie Wistrom scored twice in the first half — the first off a hustle play on a loose ball — and added a third goal late in the second.

Hits allowed by Brennan Overstreet over five innings in Monday’s 10-2 win at Waynesville. Overstreet gave up one unearned run, walked two, and struck out four — and had plenty of run support to work with as Republic put up 13 hits and 10 runs behind him.

Minutes left when freshman Maleah Long scored her first career varsity goal to beat Waynesville 2-1 on Tuesday. Andie Wistrom had tied it six minutes earlier; Long volleyed a corner kick in at the back post to seal it. Awbree Berning made two great saves in the final three minutes to seal it. Republic has won five of its last six matches.

Events won by freshman Maura Lander in her first two meets. At the Republic Classic and again at the Branson Invitational last weekend, Lander swept the long jump and triple jump. Four events, two meets, zero prior varsity experience.

Points scored by senior Violetta Fahreev out of a possible 300 at the MoNASP State Archery Championship in Branson, earning her the top female archer ranking in Missouri among more than 3,800 competitors. She won a $2,500 scholarship and a Mathews Genesis bow — and she’ll keep shooting at Lyon College next year on an archery scholarship.
