Republic placed three players on the All-Central Ozark Conference West boys basketball team and head coach Tim Brown was named Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to a league title for the second straight year.
Juniors Keiran Govan and Brody Blades were unanimous first-team selections. Govan, a 6-3 junior, averaged 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field. Blades, a 6-1 junior, averaged 12.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and knocked down 38.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
Junior AJ Uhl earned second-team honors. The 6-5 forward averaged 11.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and led the trio in field goal percentage at 55.2 percent.
Neosho senior Kaiden Asberry was named Player of the Year. Other first-team selections were Uzziah Huskisson of Willard, Landon Ray of Carthage, Fred Taylor of Joplin, and Hudson Matthiesen of Webb City. Govan, Blades, Asberry, Huskisson, Ray, and Taylor were all unanimous picks.
The second team also included Mikyas Riley and Daveon Duncan of Parkview, Trae Turner of Webb City, Zach Forsyth of Neosho, and Nahmy Kelly of Willard.
