Nolan Lashley went to the plate five times Saturday against Columbia Rock Bridge. Five times, he reached base. The sophomore finished 4-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch, two runs scored, and a stolen base in a wild 9-8 loss to the Bruins.

Lashley singled in his first at-bat, then stole second base. He was hit by a pitch in the third inning during Republic’s six-run rally, eventually coming around to score on Brennan Overstreet’s two-run single. In the fourth, he doubled to left field.

With the Tigers clinging to a 6-5 lead in the sixth, Lashley singled to center and later scored on a passed ball to push the lead to 8-5. He added another single in the seventh for his fourth hit of the game.

The sophomore is off to a fast start this season, hitting .667 through Republic’s first three games with eight hits in 12 at-bats, including two doubles, and a 1.548 OPS. His 4-for-4 day against Rock Bridge is our Performance of the Week.
