The stats are in, and the Lady Tigers got into the record book not once, but twice Tuesday in a road win at Willard. The obvious record at game time was the 14 three-pointers made by the team, tying a mark that had been set twice before. But after stats were compiled, Republic also broke the 24-year-old team record for assists in a game. (Game recap here.)

The Lady Tigers’ assist total in Monday’s 84-54 win at Willard, a new school record. The previous mark of 23 was set against Mt. Vernon in 2002. Republic’s ball movement was electric all night — the Lady Tigers assisted on more than two-thirds of their made field goals and shot 48.4% from the field.

Three-pointers made by Republic, tying the school record set at Joplin in 2022 and matched last season against Neosho. The Lady Tigers shot 51.9% from beyond the arc on 27 attempts, with five players connecting from deep. Paelyn Gilmore led the way with five threes, and Charlie Hagewood added four. The record-tying three-pointer came from Jordin Quessenberry.

Points for Hagewood, who shot 8-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-7 from three. Hagewood also had three assists, a steal, and a block.
