Republic’s swim team continued a season-long run of record-breaking performances at the Kirkwood Girls Invitational, finishing 10th overall. The Lady Tigers scored 106 points in a large, high-level field. It’s the first time Republic has finished ahead of every other southwest Missouri school at the Kirkwood Invitational.

Republic advanced swimmers into both championship and consolation finals across the two-day meet. In championship finals, Ava Brown placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle, Zaylie Pinnell finished eighth in the 50 freestyle, and Elise Replogle earned two top-eight finishes, placing seventh in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 breaststroke. The 200-yard freestyle relay also reached the championship final and finished seventh.

In consolation finals, the 400-yard freestyle relay placed ninth, Brown finished 10th in the 100 freestyle, Pinnell took 16th in the 100 freestyle, Amelia Beaver placed 15th in the 100 backstroke, and the 200-yard medley relay finished 13th.

The meet added three more school records to a growing list this season. The 200-yard freestyle relay set a new mark with a time of 1:46.59. Pinnell broke the school record in the 50 freestyle during Friday prelims with a time of 25.66, and Replogle lowered the school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.79 in prelims.
