Republic recorded its highest team finish in program history at the Ozarks Invitational, placing third out of 18 teams Saturday in Springfield. The Lady Tigers finished with 238 points, trailing only Glendale and West Plains at the major mid-season meet.
The performance was highlighted by two new school records and one tied record during Saturday’s competition. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Annalice Renegar, Elise Replogle, Zaylie Pinnell, and Ava Brown took first place with a school-record time of 1:47.44.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Amelia Beaver, Replogle, Brown, and Pinnell finished second with a time of 2:02.03, breaking the record for the second consecutive night.
Replogle added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.62) and took fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.79). Beaver finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.15 and placed 17th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:52.17). Mei Pruett contributed a 14th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:18.24) and an 18th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (1:07.42).
The record-setting weekend began Friday at a separate six-team meet where Republic established two other marks. The 200-yard medley relay team first broke the school record Friday night (2:03.53) before lowering it again on Saturday. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Brown, Replogle, Pinnell, and Renegar set a new school record with a time of 3:59.06. In individual events Friday, Brown tied the 2021 school record of Karissa Metzger in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.63.
