Performance of the Week – Mabel Rogers
Mabel Rogers continued her unbeaten season Saturday by winning the 115-pound title at the Republic Invitational, helping lead Republic to the first tournament championship in program history.
Rogers went 5-0 on the day, finishing with four falls and scoring 28 team points. She opened the tournament with pins over Selah Segebarth of Camdenton and Gabriella Harmon of Glendale, then added a fall against Jaqueline Teneyuque of McDonald County in the third round. Rogers advanced through the championship bracket by forfeit before closing the tournament with another pin of Teneyuque in the finals.
Rogers finished the tournament with four pins in 9:24 of total mat time and remained undefeated on the season at 26-0. Her performance earned her Outstanding Wrestler honors as Republic topped a 16-team field to claim the team title.
