Republic’s girls swim team picked up where it left off before Christmas, breaking four more school records in its first meet back from the break. Perennial power Glendale won the team race with 325 points. Webb City finished third at 203, followed by Kickapoo (182), Ozark (129) and Nixa (127).
Republic’s top moment came in the relays. The Lady Tigers won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:02.14, setting a school record with Amelia Beaver, Ava Brown, Elise Replogle and Zaylie Pinnell. That time topped the previous record of 2:03.53 by the same group.
Republic closed the night by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:59.26 to break the school record. Annalice Renegar, Pinnell, Brown and Replogle made up the record-setting lineup. The old mark was 4:03.05.
Pinnell added a school record in the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 26.14. Brown shattered the 500-yard freestyle record, replacing the record she lost to Pinnell earlier in the evening.
Republic picked up several individual wins. Brown won the 200-yard IM in 2:23.92 and the 500 freestyle in 5:43.15. Replogle won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.31. Renegar won the 200 freestyle in 2:13.18.
Pinnell also won the 100 freestyle in 57.96.
Republic swept the podium positions in the 50-yard free. Behind Pinnell’s record performance, Replogle took second (27.30) and Beaver placed third (28.97).
Beaver added a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:11.63 and swam on Republic’s fourth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:57.18) along with Renegar, Chism and Pruett. Renegar finished fourth in the 500 freestyle (6:15.32).
Sara Chism finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:29.12) and placed seventh in the 200 freestyle (2:28.25). Mei Pruett placed 10th in the 100 backstroke (1:23.60) and 11th in the 50 freestyle (30.57). Alice Booher finished seventh in the 100 freestyle (1:14.58) and swam exhibition entries in the 50 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay.
