Republic wrestling traveled to Branson on Wednesday, where the Lady Tigers earned a 40-36 win while the Tigers fell to the Pirates 59-11.
The Lady Tigers relied on five falls to lead their performance. Bre-Elle Gutierrez (110) recorded the fastest pin for the girls in 42 seconds, and Chloe Simpson (145) followed with a fall in 1:05. Millie Waterman (120) secured a pin in 3:46, and Gabby Shanks (135) also won by fall. Mabel Rogers (115) added a 12-3 major decision over Alyssa Salemie.
Republic also received forfeit wins from Anna McBroom (170) and Aara Shade (190).
In the boys dual, Republic secured two individual victories. Izaiah Hull (175) pinned Eligh Little in 34 seconds. Ethan Montiel (215) earned a 17-2 technical fall over Max Davis. Branson won the remaining contested matches by fall or technical fall and picked up three forfeits to secure the team win.
