McCracken Named Large School Offensive Player of the Year

Republic quarterback Preston McCracken has been recognized as one of the area’s top offensive players by the Springfield Area Quarterback Club. McCracken was named Large School Offensive Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Nixa’s Jayden McCaster.

McCracken has rushed for 1,100 yards this season, averaging 8.5 yards per carry, and has scored 15 rushing touchdowns. He’s also thrown for 358 yards and six touchdowns. In Republic’s last two games—both lopsided wins over Willard—he carried the ball just five times as the Tigers spread the workload.

The award continues a recent trend among Republic quarterbacks. Two years ago, Wyatt Woods earned the area’s Offensive MVP honor from the Quarterback Club.
