Norris, Bremer Fuel Comeback Tennis Win at Branson

Republic pulled out a 5–4 road win at rival Branson by rallying in the final two matches of the night on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers trailed 4–3 after four singles matches, but Claire Norris (No. 2) and Aubree Tinsley (No. 6) delivered back-to-back victories to clinch the dual. Tinsley’s 8–4 win was the deciding match.

In doubles, Republic won two of three: Mati Carpenter and Tinsley won 8–3 at No. 1, and the No. 3 duo of Norris and Sienna Blankenship also posted an 8–3 victory.

In singles play, Carpenter dropped the top spot 8–3, and Marlee Vasquez and Paelyn Kaufmann fell at Nos. 3 and 4. Norris answered with an 8–3 win at No. 2, Abigail Bremer cruised 8–1 at No. 5, and Tinsley capped the night with her clinching win at No. 6.

The win lifts Republic’s record to 7–3. Branson dropped to 8–8. Republic hosts Ozark on Friday.
