Addie Brown powered Republic to a 9–6 win at Webb City on Friday, delivering the biggest offensive performance of the season. Brown hit two home runs—including a grand slam—added a double, scored three times, and drove in seven of Republic’s nine runs.
Her first blast, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, gave Republic its first lead of the night. Her second, a grand slam to straightaway center in the fifth, broke a 5–5 tie and put the game away.
Paige Elsenraat set the table all night, reaching base three times on two hits and a walk, and scoring every time. Maddie Carter added two hits and drove in two runs.
Republic erased an early 3–0 deficit with three runs in the third. Elsenraat started that rally with a double and scored on Brown’s double. After two walks loaded the bases, Carter’s single tied the score.
Webb City tied the game again in the bottom of the fourth before Brown’s second home run gave Republic control for good.
Kara Goeke started and worked three and a third innings, allowing five runs—four earned—while striking out four. Kendra Goeke earned the win in relief, allowing one run on three hits over two innings. Piper Dishman finished it with one and two-thirds scoreless innings, striking out two.
The win improved Republic’s record to 18–14. Webb City dropped to 22–9. The Lady Tigers host Parkview on Monday for their regular-season finale and the final scheduled home game for retiring coach Lee Dishman. Republic opens district play October 16 against Branson.
