It may have seemed like linebacker Mason Whitworth was all over the field Friday night against Waynesville, but in reality, he was mostly just all over the Waynesville backfield.
Whitworth had four solo tackles on the night in limited action. Three of those were behind the line of scrimmage, and one of them was a quarterback sack. The team recorded seven tackles for loss in the game, with Whitworth leading in that category. His sack was one of just two recorded by the Republic defense on the night.
Whitworth’s outstanding defensive effort helped the Tigers shut out Waynesville, and it was our Performance of the Week.
