Republic’s offense extended a historic three-game run with Friday’s 54-7 win at Kickapoo. The victory marked the first time in program history the Tigers have scored 50 or more points in three consecutive games.
The Tigers’ offensive explosion marked the first time in program history Republic has scored 50 or more points in three consecutive games. The streak began with a 56-0 victory over Waynesville on Sept. 5, continued with a 55-33 win against Ozark on Sept. 12, and reached its peak with the 54-7 rout of Kickapoo.
Republic has scored 165 points in a three-week span. Since 2000, the Tigers have had four entire seasons with fewer total points: 2001 (110), 2003 (135), 2010 (143), and 2016 (148).
The current offensive surge represents a dramatic shift for the program. Between 1962 and 2020, Republic scored more than 50 points just 11 times across 58 seasons. Since Ryan Cornelsen took over in 2021, the Tigers have reached the 50-point mark 10 times in less than 4 1/2 seasons.
The Tigers’ balanced attack on Friday is our Performance of the Week.
As always, a big thank you to Chris Stueve for compiling so much historical data.
