Republic battered Central pitching for 17 runs on Tuesday, cruising to a 17-2 run-rule victory at Republic.
The Tigers seized control immediately, scoring four runs in the first inning. Isaac White drove in Ryder Davis with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1, followed by Preston McCracken’s RBI single that scored Jackson Overstreet. Cooper Pilkinton added another RBI single before Brennan Overstreet grounded out to drive in the fourth run.
In the second inning, Republic added four more runs. White was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run. Following a balk that scored another run, McCracken doubled to make it 8-1.
The Tigers exploded for nine runs in the third inning. Overstreet’s RBI single scored Davis, followed by two runs scoring on an error. Carter Murray’s sacrifice fly brought in another run. Nolan Lashley extended the outburst with a two-run double, and Jackson Overstreet added his third hit with an RBI single to make it 17-2.
Ryder Davis reached base safely four times and scored four runs. Lashley, White, McCracken, and Jackson and Brennan Overstreet each drove in two runs. White and Jackson Overstreet scored three runs.
McCracken earned the win, striking out six batters in three innings of work while allowing just one hit. Central managed just one hit for the entire game.
