Rockwood Summit took command early and never looked back in a 13-4 win over Republic on Friday afternoon. The Falcons jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, extended it to 6-2, and eventually led 10-2 through five innings.
Jackson Miller paced the Falcons with a homer and two RBIs, while Kaden Dinges went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Wyatt Schneider added a triple and two RBIs for Summit, who improved to 10-4.
For Republic, Isaac White went 3-for-4 with two doubles, while Preston McCracken drove in two runs. Ryder Davis tripled home two runs in the second inning to cut the early deficit to 6-2. The Tigers added two more runs in the seventh but couldn’t overcome the large deficit.
Rockwood Summit put the leadoff batter on base in each of the first six innings. The Falcons racked up 15 hits and drew 7 walks against Tiger pitching.
Brennan Overstreet took the loss for Republic, allowing six runs in two innings. Ryder Davis and Cooper Pilkinton also pitched two innings before Cannon Ellison closed out the game. The Tigers, who fell to 10-9, committed four errors that led to additional Falcon runs.
