Republic wrestling won both its duals at Lebanon Thursday night, defeating Bolivar 52-21 and Lebanon 51-24. The Tigers were led by Shea Rogers and Keaton Overcast, who each recorded two pins on the night.
Republic 51, Lebanon 24
Republic won 10 of 13 contested matches to defeat Lebanon 51-24 Thursday night.
At 106 pounds, Coy Chrihfield started strong for Republic with a pin of Ayden Hicks in 2:00. Lebanon answered by winning the next two weights, with Joseph Garner pinning Corbin Massey at 120 and Kaden Branch stopping Bentley Packwood at 126.
Republic then took control with back-to-back falls. Shea Rogers pinned Memphis Harmon in 2:42 at 132, and Keaton Overcast followed with a pin of Luke Smith in 5:14 at 138.
The Tigers won six straight matches through the middle and upper weights. Daniel Gonzalez earned a 16-6 major decision at 144, Adam Dunlap won 7-2 at 150, and Kaiden Patterson pinned Brett Gard in 2:58 at 157. Kameron Sutton added a 17-9 major decision at 165, and Cameron Allen (175) recorded a 37-second fall.
Lebanon’s Blake Lively interrupted the streak with a pin at 190, but Republic closed with two more wins. Chase Hicks (215) pinned Davin Admire in 33 seconds and Mason Hartsock won by 16-4 major decision at 285.
Republic 52, Bolivar 21
Republic topped Bolivar 52-21 Thursday night, helped by five forfeits in a dual that featured seven contested matches.
At 132 pounds, Shea Rogers needed just 1:04 to pin Madden Ross. Keaton Overcast followed with another fall at 138 pounds, defeating Maddux NeSmith in 4:34.
Bolivar answered with three straight wins in the middle weights. Cooper Moore pinned Daniel Gonzalez in 1:12 at 144 pounds, before Adam Dunlap got Republic back on track with a 9-1 major decision over Koven Parks at 150. Cale McCurry then pinned Kaiden Patterson in 1:35 at 157, and Logan Bunn edged Kameron Sutton 16-13 in the night’s closest match at 165.
Bolivar’s Sam Harless recorded his team’s final win, pinning Cooper White in 2:53 at 190 pounds.
Five Bolivar forfeits accounted for 30 of Republic’s team points.
