Former Republic girls basketball coach Kris Flood will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
“I got the call Monday, and honestly, it shocked me to get it,” Flood said. “I didn’t know if it would ever occur, but to get it that quick, it really… floored me and I was kind of speechless.”
Flood retired just last season after compiling a 530-178 record in 25 seasons at Republic, leading the Lady Tigers to state championships in 2004 and 2012. His teams captured nine Central Ozark Conference titles and made 11 state quarterfinal appearances.
During his tenure, Republic won 15 district championships and averaged more than 21 wins per season. His teams posted 20 or more victories in 19 of his 25 seasons.
Flood’s Republic teams went 161-44 in Central Ozark Conference games. The Lady Tigers posted undefeated conference records in five championship seasons (2002, 2003, 2016, 2019, and 2024) and won their final 17 consecutive COC games under his leadership.
The enshrinement ceremony is set for February 2 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield.
