Republic softball notched its 20th win of the season Tuesday, defeating Willard 11-1. It’s the first 20-win season for the Lady Tigers since 2018.
Addie Brown paced Republic’s offense with three hits, including a home run. She drove in three runs and scored twice. Sammi Watson added two RBIs, while Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs scored twice and drove in one. Addison Walker chipped in two RBIs and scored once.
The Lady Tigers swiped six bases in the contest.
Piper Dishman started in the circle for Republic, working two innings. She allowed one run on three hits and struck out five without issuing a walk. Kara Goeke picked up the win in relief, pitching four innings. She fanned four, walked none, and scattered three hits.
Willard plated its lone run in the top of the first. Republic answered with two in the bottom half to take the lead. They added three in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth.
Republic finished with 11 runs on nine hits and committed one error. Willard had one run on six hits with two errors.
