Three Republic baseball players have been named to the Class 6 all-state team by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association. Trace Harrington, Garrett Lester, and Wyatt Woods were all named to the 2nd team all-state squad.
Harrington slugged nine home runs, including three in one game at Carthage, and set a school record with 43 runs batted in. He also compiled a 0.93 earned run average on the mound, another school record.
Lester batted .410 in the leadoff spot, with a .556 on-base percentage. He set a Republic record by drawing 31 walks. During one stretch, he reached base safely 14 consecutive times.
Woods earned his second all-state baseball selection in a row. In addition to his defense behind the plate, Woods hit .314 and had a .371 on-base percentage. He drove in 25 runs, scored 18, and stole 14 bases.
