Troester Earns History-Making Third Medal

Gracie Troester won her third medal of the 2024 Missouri Track & Field Championships, and she may be the first Republic athlete ever to accomplish that. She finished third in the 3200m run to go along with a third-place finish in the 1600m run and a medal as part of the 4x800m relay team.

Troester followed champion Natalie Barnard out from the pack early in the race and held onto second place most of the way. Evyn Humphrey of Francis Howell passed Troester on the last lap. But Troester’s third-place finish was still far above expectations based on previous times. She was seeded ninth coming into the race.
